ABOUT BEITH DAVID

Beith David Educational Center, under the leadership of Rabbi Moshe Levihim, is a non-profit Orthodox Sephardic Synagogue in Tarzana, California. A majority of the congregants are Persian with strong traditional values.

Beith David has been serving the community for more than 30 years with the core mission of fostering Judaism and nurturing faith within our community, built on the principles of transparency, integrity, and accountability. With daily prayer services, numerous Torah classes, and a wide array of frequent events we strive to help the community grow spiritually and to bring Jewish families closer together.

MEET THE RABBI

Rabbi Moshe Levihim, a distinguished Torah scholar is renowned for his profound Torah knowledge, kind heart, and exceptional leadership skills. He is well known for his ability to connect to all congregants regardless of their religious background.

Rabbi Levihim has been leading Beith David for more than 18 years and has made a significant positive impact on hundreds of families. He has also been teaching at local Jewish elementary schools in Los Angeles for decades and has inspired hundreds of students over the years. He received his Semicha and Master degree from Talmudic University of Florida and a separate degree from Johns Hopkins University.

His wife, Rebbetzin Ora Levihim, has also been a fundamental part of their success in the community as she has organized hundreds of events at Beith David and makes herself available to learning with woman including new brides.

ABOUT OUR CHAZZAN

Cantor, Dr. Binyamin Ghiam, is a distinguished Sephardic cantor specializing in the Jerusalem style, known for blending classical Persian music with contemporary Ashkenazi and Hasidic melodies, rooted in Jerusalem, Syrian, Turkish, and Persian musical traditions.

With over 20 years of experience and mastery of multiple instruments, Dr. Benny has captivated audiences at high-caliber Orthodox Jewish events during the Jewish high holidays and Tefilot around the year. His dedication to preserving and innovating the Sephardic heritage, combined with his knowledge of medicine and pharmacy, reflects his belief in the right music as the right medicine for the right soul, delivered at the right time, and just at the right dose.

Driven by a deep passion for fostering closeness to Hashem (God) through Ahdout (unity), Hazzan Benny, attempts to create powerful orthodox spiritual experiences (with the help of Hashem) that resonate with both older and newer generations, inspiring unity in Sephardic synagogues throughout the Greater Los Angeles area, the San Fernando Valley, and the Orthodox Persian community.
